Jeffery Johnson represents businesses and individuals engaged in business, corporate, environmental and healthcare endeavors. He appears on behalf of his clients in all litigation venues and proceedings including federal and state courts, administrative hearings, writ proceedings, trials, appellate proceedings, mediation and arbitration. For over a decade, Mr. Johnson has been recognized with an AV Preeminent® Peer Review rating from Martindale-Hubbell®.

On matters related to healthcare, Mr. Johnson advises clients with a wide range of legal concerns including business disputes, fraud, anti-competitive conduct, unfair business practices, anti-SLAPP laws, Stark and anti-kickback laws, medical staff and medical board issues, HIPAA and privacy laws, shareholder disputes, business transactions, real estate matters, complex litigation, and multi-party agreements. He advises clients on healthcare entity and corporate formation and governance, regulatory compliance, and contract matters.

On matters related to environmental law, Mr. Johnson advises clients with issues related to the federal Clean Air Act, California Air Pollution Controls Laws and South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) Rules and Regulations including permitting, variances, notices of violation, civil enforcement actions and emission reduction credits. He both prosecutes and defends against claims related to soil and groundwater contamination including representing potentially responsible parties (PRPs) at Superfund sites. He both advises clients and defends against claims involving, the Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the Porter-Cologne Water Quality Control Act, National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, Unified Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Materials Management Regulatory Program, the Underground Storage Tank program (UST), California Accidental Release Prevention program (CalARP), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Communication Standard and nuisance law.

Mr. Johnson has more than thirty years of experience as a litigator and corporate counsel. He was an associate at Latham & Watkins and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft and a shareholder at Heller Ehrman, in Los Angeles. In 1999, he left the big, national firm environment to form his own firm with some of his colleagues.

Mr. Johnson holds a law degree from Indiana University School of Law, where he was a member of the Indiana Law Journal and graduated cum laude in 1987. He also holds a Bachelor degree from Butler University, where he graduated cum laude with high honors in Political Science, and was recognized as the Outstanding Male Student in 1984.
